Computers are now in use in every imaginable application and form, ubiquitously appearing in all facets of life, from toys and games to airplanes and large government systems,. Computer Engineering is a branch of engineering concerned with developing computer systems. Software that runs these systems, is often the key component. Rapid changes in computer technology require that we educate engineers who have mastered the fundamentals of the field and who can consistently renew and improve themselves. We try to instill skills in our students that enable them to understand and analyze complex systems and design and implement the most suitable solutions to improve their performance. In the Computer Engineering Department, we view research as an integral part of the academic environment. Our research efforts concentrate on software engineering, parallel computation, microprocessor design, image processing and data mining. Thanks to the high standards of the department, our graduates are well sought after in the sector if they want to pursue work after graduation. Those who want to pursue graduate work can continue their studies in the department or apply other good universities in Turkey or abroad where they are well accepted.
